Meet TuxnDog, a talking Cane Corso who started her first day at home with a single “potty” button. Since then, her vocabulary has grown to over 100 buttons—used daily in fluent English conversations with her pet parents.
This Cane Corso has a lot to say, and the vocabulary to say it. For over two years, she’s been communicating through AIC buttons—building not only a consistent daily routine but a deeply bonded relationship with her peeps. And the internet noticed.
One of her most viral videos—a sassy conversation demanding breakfast—crossed 3.2 million views on Facebook@TuxnDogOfficial showing just how captivating a talking dog can be when the conversation is real. She doesn’t press random speech buttons (AIC). She makes clear, grammatically structured requests like:
“Room service.”
“I need it now.”
“Breakfast”
“in bed.”
“Chicken.”
Or she’ll say: “Play with me. Tug-of-war.” (Sometimes even using her tug toy to press the buttons—then bringing it directly to her humans, leaving no doubt she knows exactly what she’s saying).
Her journey isn’t just getting noticed by fans—it’s now being recognized by experts.
TuxnDog was invited to participate in a scientific study led by Dr. Federico Rossano, director of UC San Diego’s Comparative Cognition Lab. The lab is studying how dogs use speech buttons to communicate, and Tuxn’s vocabulary, consistency, and personality made her a natural fit.
She was also featured in the American Kennel Club’s (AKC) most recent publication—an article exploring button communication in dogs. The AKC recognized her as a standout example of canine intelligence and communication using dog talking buttons.
Behind the scenes, her dog mom and trainer, Sky Blue Swain, has documented over 7,000 videos of TuxnDog using her pet communication buttons—sharing more than 1,000 of them across social media platforms. (See homepage for links to her top SM accounts).
What began as an experiment in dog-human language interaction has grown into something much bigger—a talking dog who’s now part of science, comedy, and culture all at once. And if you think she’s done evolving… just wait for what she says next. Her own brand of speech buttons, known as Tawk’n Tux’n Talking Gizmos, are now available for other dog parents who want to explore this fascinating world of canine communication using buttons.
